ACT
Exploration is a doing. It is about being in action. It is taking the talking and the thinking and doing what needs to be done to shift you from here to there.
ACT sits at the center of the Explorer’s Compass, representing the crucial transition from thinking to doing. This compass point reminds us that exploration is fundamentally active—not just contemplative. It’s the spark that transforms ideas into reality and the catalyst that converts potential into achievement.
When reality seems disconnected (separate from you ) (Observer), you use ACT to engage as a co-creator (participant)
The Challenge: Many of us live as observers of our lives rather than active participants—watching opportunities pass by while waiting for permission, certainty, or perfect conditions.
The Explorer’s Insight: “To get there, you have to start, you have to move, you have to ACT. Exploration is turning your idea into actions.” – Verna van Schaik, World Record Holder
For a year, I contemplated that record-breaking dive without taking action. During that time, the women’s depth record existed as an external fact—something separate from me. But the moment I descended past 211 meters, I wasn’t just achieving within reality—I was actively reshaping it. After that dive, what was possible for women divers had literally changed.
The Reality Shift: When reality seems separate from you, ACT helps you become its co-creator. You stop accepting the world “as it is” and start participating in creating what it could be.
