I am not sure if I should be insulted, amused or indifferent.
My dive to 221 meters in 2004 put me in the top ten deepest dives in the world (around 5 or 6 depending who you believe or don’t believe). It is a cave record and when it is broken, it will be broke in the sea, not a cave. I was the first and only woman to dive deep in Boesmans and am the third deepest (once again, depending on who you believe)
The Woman’s Hall of Fame states that they honour woman who have: set/ broken a world record in the field of diving (one of their members is the world champion in free diving), or was the first (the first woman to dive the Andrea Doria).
Here is there letter declining my nomination which was supported by Deepest man, Nuno Gomes. Maybe they should know what you think about it ? Should the Deepest Woman in the World not be in the Woman’s Diving Hall of Fame ? If not, why not ?

Dear Verna,
It is with regret that I inform you that you were not selected for membership in the Women Divers Hall of Fame, Class of 2014. The large field of very talented, accomplished nominees made the decision a difficult one for the Selection Panel.
You have every reason to be proud of your many achievements, and your friends and colleagues have honored you by supporting your nomination. Although we could not accept every nominee, our nomination process has affirmed our belief that women throughout the world are doing great things to make a difference in the diving community and the marine environment.
We hope you will accept our offer of a free, one-year Associate Membership because we want to stay connected with you and we will be watching with great interest as your future accomplishments unfold.
Wishing you exciting journeys and safe diving,
Joan Forsberg
